A PCR-based reverse hybridization system (research prototype kit INNO-LiPA for H. pylori resistance) was developed and evaluated for simultaneous detection of 23S ribosomal DNA point mutations, associated with macrolide resistance in Helicobacter pylori. Fifty-seven H. pylori strains (51 natural, 6 laboratory-derived artificial, 52 resistant, and 5 susceptible strains) were tested by PCR-LiPA (detecting mutations A2115-->G, G2141-->A, A2142-->G, A2142-->C, A2143-->G, A2143-->C, and A2143-->T), DNA sequencing, restriction fragment length polymorphism, and/or hybridization to oligonucleotide probes. Results were highly concordant, but PCR-LiPA appears to be more sensitive for the simultaneous detection of multiple mutants.

Anode-free aqueous zinc metal batteries (AZMBs) offer significant potential for energy storage due to their low cost and environmental benefits. TiCT MXene provides several advantages over traditional metallic current collectors like Cu and Ti, including better Zn plating affinity, lightweight, and flexibility. However, self-freestanding MXene current collectors in AZMBs remain underexplored, likely due to challenges with Zn deposition reversibility.

The high mortality rate from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is due primarily to challenges in early diagnosis and the development of drug resistance in advanced stages. Many first-line chemotherapeutic drugs induce ferroptosis, a form of programmed cell death dependent on ferrous iron-mediated oxidative stress, suggesting that drug resistance and ensuing tumor progression may in part stem from reduced ferroptosis. Since circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been shown to influence tumor development, we examined whether specific circRNAs may regulate drug-induced ferroptosis in HCC.

Background: A number of genetic aberrations are associated with the BCL6-correpresor gene (BCOR), including internal tandem duplications (ITDs) and gene fusions (BCOR::CCNB3 and BCOR::MAML3), as well as YWHAE::NUTM2, which are found in clear cell sarcoma of the kidney (CCSK), sarcoma with BCOR genetic alterations, primitive myxoid mesenchymal tumor of infancy, and high-grade neuroepithelial tumors in children. Detecting these gene aberrations is crucial for tumor diagnosis. ITDs can be identified by Sanger sequencing or agarose gel electrophoresis.

Background: Sunitinib resistance is a major challenge in advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Clinically, elucidating the underlying mechanisms and developing practical countermeasures for sunitinib resistance in RCC is desirable. In previous studies, we found that circAGAP1 expression was significantly upregulated in clear cell RCC (ccRCC) and was strongly associated with poor prognosis.

Efficient room-temperature sensors for toxic gases are essential to ensure a safe and healthy life. Conducting frameworks have shown great promise in advancing gas sensing technologies. In this study, two new organic-inorganic frameworks [CuX(PPh)(L)], CP1 (X = I) and CP2 (X = Br) have been synthesized using (pyridin-4-yl)-N-(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)methanimine (L) and triphenylphosphine.
