Anogenital warts have become one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases reported in the Western World. The frustration of treatment for both patient and carer is well recognised. Current available methods rely principally on ablation of visible lesions, with hospital-based treatments often requiring multiple attendance by out-patients. Overall, the current failure rate, recurrence rate, and side-effects of these treatments are highly unsatisfactory. Imiquimod, recently launched in the US under the brand name Aldaratrade mark cream, represents the most interesting and innovative approach to therapy to become available in many years. Imiquimod is an immune response modifier, therefore this symposium report addresses the vital issues of the immune based response to human papilloma virus (HPV) infection, as well as the problems of persistence caused by HPV disease. The mechanisms by which imiquimod can induce an inflammatory and cell-mediated response are discussed. Also reviewed are the consequent imiquimod clinical results and the reasons why they show great cause for optimism in HPV treatment. As a home-based effective treatment with a low recurrence rate, imiquimod has already generated enthusiasm on an international scale. This symposium report presents the thoughts and experiences of medical specialists from various countries regarding the treatment of genital HPV infections and the place for imiquimod in clinical practice.

Background: One of the common complications in spinal surgery patients is deep surgical site infections (SSIs). Deep SSIs refer to infections that involve the deeper soft tissues of the incision, such as the fascia and muscle layers. This complication can lead to prolonged hospitalization, repeated surgeries, and even life-threatening conditions.

Background: The role of repeat transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) for the management of nonmuscle invasive bladder carcinoma is debated, especially when initial resections include detrusor muscle. This study compares immediate second resection (additional deep biopsies in the same session) with standard restage TURBT performed 2-6 weeks post-initial TURBT to determine adequacy in detrusor muscle sampling and compare the disease rate at restage TURBT in both groups.

Material And Methods: A randomized trial was conducted at a tertiary care hospital, including patients aged ≥18 years undergoing TURBT with complete primary tumor resection.

Introduction: Vital dyes lymphography during laparoscopic varicocelectomy (LV) has been suggested to allow for lymphatic mapping thereby allowing for lymphatic sparing (LS) and subsequent reduction of hydrocele formation. Intratesticular injection of the dye seems to achieve the best lymphatic visualization, however, the potential toxicity of some agents, is a cause of concern for the risk of testicular pathological changes. We report our experience with LV, to test the hypothesis that Intraoperative lymphography with methylene blue (BL), is safe and reduces the rate of post-operative hydrocelectomy.

Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microwave ablation (MWA) for treating cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM) from papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).

Methods: Medline, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched for studies on the efficacy and safety of thermal ablations for treating CLNM from PTC until July 2024. Among 544 papers, 11 articles were reviewed involving 233 patients and 432 CLNM cases.
