This study evaluated the influence of six resin composite coating agents on color stability and surface roughness after toothbrushing abrasion. Discs (Ø6 mm x 2 mm) of nanofilled resin composite (Filtek Z350XT) were prepared for application of coating agents (n=10): control (absence), two surface sealants (PermaSeal and BisCover LV), two adhesive systems (Scotchbond Multi-Purpose Adhesive/3M Oral Care and Single Bond Universal), and two modeling liquids (Modeling Resin and Composite Wetting Resin). CIELab*, WID, and color change (ΔEab, ΔE00, and ΔWID) were analyzed at baseline, after finishing and polishing, after application of coating agents, after coffee staining (simulating 30 days and one year of staining), and after toothbrushing abrasion.

Nucleic acid detection plays a crucial role in various applications, including disease diagnostics, research development, food safety, and environmental health monitoring. A rapid, point-of-care (POC) nucleic acid test can greatly benefit healthcare system by providing timely diagnosis for effective treatment and patient management, as well as supporting diseases surveillance for emerging pandemic diseases. Recent advancements in nucleic acids technology have led to rapid assays for single-stranded nucleic acids that can be integrated into simple and miniaturized platforms for ease of use.

Background: Point-of-care HIV viral load testing may enhance patient care and improve HIV health services. We aimed to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of implementing such testing in a high-volume community sexual health clinic in the United States.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional, mixed-methods study.

Rapid antigen diagnostic tests (Ag-RDTs) that quickly and accurately identify SARS-CoV-2 are an essential part of the COVID-19 response, but multiple factors can affect the validity of Ag-RDTs results. In Cambodia, several commercial Ag-RDTs have become available since the COVID-19 outbreak, but quality control (QC) and external quality assurance (EQA) of these rapid tests have yet to be fully and systematically implemented. We collaborated with laboratory experts in Australia and piloted an EQA programme of the commonly used COVID-19 Ag-RDTs at the University of Health Sciences' MERIEUX Laboratory (Tier 1 site-responsible for the in-country receipt and distribution of QA material) and four other participating laboratories (Tier 2-healthcare facility based) between November 2021 and November 2022.

Steroid hormones, especially progesterone (P), estradiol (E), and testosterone (T), are key bioactive regulators in various female physiological processes, including growth and development, ovulation, and the reproductive cycle, as well as metabolism and mental health. As lipophilic molecules produced in sex glands, these steroid female hormones can be transported through blood vessels into various body fluids such as saliva, sweat, and urine. However, the ultralow concentration of steroid hormones down to picomolar (pM) level necessitates great demands for ultrasensitive but low-cost analytic tools to implement accurate, point-of-care or even continuous monitoring in a user-friendly fashion.
