Bilateral visual field constriction has been recently reported in patients treated with vigabatrin. It has been considered that vigabatrin, a GABA agonist antiepileptic drug, was specifically responsible for this visual field defect. We present four observations sharing the same characteristics of chronic tunnel vision. Three patients had had vigabatrin but the fourth one received other antiepileptic drugs, progabide, an agonist of post-synaptic GABA receptors, and phenobarbital which interferes with GABA-A receptors. It is thus possible to hypothesize a retinal toxicity triggered by chronically increased GABA transmission. If this is confirmed, an accurate incidence of symptomatic and asymptomatic visual field constriction with GABA-mimetic drugs should be established, as well as the patients' profiles which are more at risk. Patients currently under this type of treatment should be checked by both manual and automatic perimetry every six months to one year.

Tachistoscopic studies have established a right field advantage for the perception of visually presented words, which has been interpreted as reflecting a left hemispheric specialization. However, it is not clear whether this is driven by the linguistic task of word processing, or also occurs when processing properties such as the style and regularity of text. We had 23 subjects perform a tachistoscopic study while they viewed five-letter words in either computer font or handwriting.

Introduction: Tear exchange during contact lens wear is essential for ocular surface integrity, facilitating debris removal, and maintaining corneal metabolism. Fluorophotometry and fluorogram methods are typically used to measure tear exchange, which require hardware modifications to a slit lamp biomicroscope. This manuscript introduces an alternative method using a corneoscleral profilometer, the Eye Surface Profiler (ESP), to quantify tear exchange during corneal and scleral rigid lens wear by assessing fluorescence intensity changes over time.

Background/ Aims: To analyze the longitudinal change in Bruch's membrane opening minimal rim width (BMO-MRW) and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (pRNFL) thickness using optical coherence tomography (OCT) after implantation of a PRESERFLO® microshunt for surgical glaucoma management in adult glaucoma patients.
Methods: Retrospective data analysis of 59 eyes of 59 participants undergoing implantation of a PRESERFLO microshunt between 2019 and 2022 at a tertiary center for glaucoma management. Surgical management included primary temporary occlusion of the glaucoma shunt to prevent early hypotony.

Retinal image registration is vital for diagnostic therapeutic applications within the field of ophthalmology. Existing public datasets, focusing on adult retinal pathologies with high-quality images, have limited number of image pairs and neglect clinical challenges. To address this gap, we introduce COph100, a novel and challenging dataset known as the Comprehensive Ophthalmology Retinal Image Registration dataset for infants with a wide range of image quality issues constituting the public "RIDIRP" database.
