Renal US was prospectively performed in 124 madagascan children less than 1 year of age. Patients were examined in the prone position and maximum kidney length was measured in the longitudinal plane. These measurements and the height and weight of our patient population were compared to published tables. Kidney length and height and weight of our patient population were inferior to the previously published reference data and the growth curve of kidneys steeper than normative standards (p < 0.001). Because of the important variability in US measurement of kidney length it is not possible to definitely conclude that length and growth curve of kidneys in madagascan children are statistically different from those of the published normative standards.

Robot-assisted kidney transplantation (RAKT) may reduce surgical complications compared to open kidney transplantation (OKT), but no randomised trials have explored this to date. The aim of the present study is to explore the feasibility of introducing RAKT at our institution, making it available in deceased donor transplantation and evaluate early surgical outcomes prior to performing a randomised trial comparing RAKT to OKT. RAKT was performed at Department of Urology, Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet, Denmark.

Purpose Of Review: Proliferative glomerulonephritis with monoclonal immunoglobulin deposits (PGNMID), is a disease defined by the presence of glomerulonephritis with nonorganized mono-isotypic immunoglobulin (Ig) deposits. This review will discuss the pathogenesis of PGNMID and address novel techniques for detection of monoclonal Ig and pathologic B-cell clones and for distinguishing monoclonal from oligoclonal Ig deposits.
Recent Findings: Because of low detection rate of circulating monoclonal Ig and nephritogenic B-cell clones and emerging reports of PGNMID-IgG in children, it has been recently argued that many PGNMID-IgG3 cases may not be monoclonal lesions.

Shortened telomere length (STL) is associated with increased rates of interstitial lung diseases, malignancy, hematological disorders, and immunosuppressive treatment toxicities. In this single-center retrospective study, we aim to determine whether patients with interstitial lung diseases who have STL, as determined by quantitative PCR of buccal epithelial cells, exhibit worse post-transplant outcomes compared to recipients with normal telomere length. In our series of 26 patients, STL was associated with a higher incidence of chronic kidney disease following lung transplantation (100% vs 55%, P = .

Background: In recent times, the applications of continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) beyond kidney-related conditions have been progressively increasing, and its implementation in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) specifically for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) has been documented. This meta-analysis compiles all existing RCTs to assess whether CRRT benefits ARDS.
Methods: We searched 12 databases in English and Chinese and two clinical trial centers up to November 28, 2023.

Aim: One of the parameters that is measurable using bioelectrical impedance is the phase angle (PhA), which is an indicator of skeletal muscle quality. The PhA reflects cellular health and nutritional status and is an important parameter for monitoring recovery after stroke. However, the factors affecting skeletal muscle quality remain unclear.
