Due to the ageing population throughout the world, the rates of older adults suffering from dementia are increasing, requiring a closer look at this population. As a result, the aim of this scoping review is to gather data from the scientific literature on the repercussions of abuse of elderly people with dementia by their caregivers. For this review, Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for scoping reviews was used as a guideline to structure the review topics.

Objective: We investigated communication experiences of caregivers of children with medical complexity (CMC) during emergency care.
Methods: Fifteen caregivers of CMC participated in semi-structured interviews regarding communication while seeking care for their child in the emergency department (ED). Thematic analysis was applied using a previously established functional communication model as an a priori framework.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the perception of quality of life of patients with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and investigate whether there is a correlation between patients' perception and that of their carers.
Methods: Cross-sectional analytical observational study. In the first part, socioeconomic, demographic, clinical, and treatment information were collected from patients diagnosed with SMA, regardless of type, sex, or age.
