Based on the practice of the Browne technique for hypospadias, epithelial skin strips were splinted with polyvinyl tubes. In an experimental study the well-known excellent tissue tolerance of the polyvinyl material was demonstrated. Definite enlarged diameter of the splinted epithelialized tubes was observed in comparing it with unsplinted controls.

Background: Inhibition of IL-4/IL-13 driven inflammation by dupilumab has shown significant clinical benefits in treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD).

Objective: To assess longitudinal protein and metabolite composition in AD skin during dupilumab treatment.

Methods: Skin tape strip (STS) were collected from lesional/non-lesional skin of 20 AD patients during 16-week dupilumab treatment and from 20 healthy volunteers (HV) followed for 16-weeks.

Evaluation of skin inflammation biomarkers in canine atopic dermatitis (AD) currently requires skin biopsies. Tape stripping has been shown to be a reliable technique to study biomarkers in the stratum corneum (SC) in humans. The aim of this study was to assess the immune response and identify biomarkers in the SC of dogs with canine AD using D-squame as a minimally invasive technique.

An origami-based tactile sensory ring utilizing multilayered conductive paper substrates presents an innovative approach to wearable health applications. By harnessing paper's flexibility and employing origami folding, the sensors integrate structural stability and self-packaging without added encapsulation layers. Knot-shaped designs create loop-based systems that secure conductive paper strips and protect sensing layers.

Shingles, also known as herpes zoster, is a reactivation of the chickenpox virus that causes a painful, blistering rash. After a chickenpox infection, the virus lies dormant in nerve cells. When reactivated, usually in older adults or those with weakened immune systems, it travels along nerves, typically affecting a single strip of skin called a dermatome.
