This paper analyzes the Covid-19 pandemic impact of the global process of automation on employment in a developing economy. This is particularly interesting because developing economies characteristics, such as having larger informal sectors and weaker social safety nets, shapes the impact of automation on labor markets. We show that occupations with a higher risk of automation exhibit the most significant employment contraction.

The United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has emphasized the importance of utilizing health information technologies, thus making the availability of electronic resources critical for physicians across the country. However, few empirical assessments exist regarding the current status of computerization and utilization of electronic resources in physician offices and physicians' perceptions of the advantages and disadvantages of computerization. Through a survey of physicians' utilization and perceptions of health information technology, this study found that a "digital divide" existed for eastern North Carolina physicians in smaller physician practices.

[Applied study on computerized quantitative facial nerve functional estimating system].

Objective: To prove the clinical applied value of quantitative facial nerve functional estimating system (QFES) by comparing the estimating results of the computerized QFES with manual QFES.

Methods: 50 volunteers with normal facial nerve function were used. Every volunteer was taken 7 photos with digital camera, which including static, and forehead wrinkle, eyebrows knit tight, eyes closed tight, nose wrinkle, smile, pout and mouth open to maximal seven expressions.

Decaying source method for scintillation camera resolving times.

An earlier paper by the author showed that scintillation camera systems can be described effectively using the resolving times T and tau0 of the dominant nonparalyzable and paralyzable components, that is, the detector system and the computer interface, respectively. When used with a full spectrum window, the camera has a lower nonparalyzable and an upper paralyzable operating range with normalized threshold input rate n(t)= N(t)tau(0) = ln(1 +k(T)n(t)), where kT= T/(tau)0. Correct determination of T and tau(0) requires that both r12 and r in the normalized two-source equations kT=(2/r12- 1/r) and k0=(r12/2r2)ln(2r/r12) come from the nonparalyzable (n< or =n(t)) and paralyzable (n> or =n(t)) ranges, respectively.
