Purpose: Adolescent girls are at high risk for depression and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) acquisition. Poor mental health can increase vulnerability to risky sexual behaviours. Therefore, this study aims to determine the prevalence of depressive symptomology and explore the convergence of HIV risk factors with depressive symptoms amongst cis-gender adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in rural KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and peri-urban Western Cape (WC) communities in South Africa.

Self-collected dried blood spot (DBS) samples may be useful in monitoring viral load (VL) in research studies or clinically given that they eliminate the need for participants to travel to study sites or laboratories. Despite this, little information exists about monitoring VL using DBS self-collected at home, and no information exists on DBS for this use among older rural people living with HIV (PLH), a population that could benefit from self-collection given difficulty accessing care. We report on the feasibility and acceptability of self-collected DBS samples, DBS VL results, concordance between self-reported and DBS VL, and factors associated with DBS detectable VL in a rural Southern U.

Background: Achieving viral suppression through effective treatment adherence is critical for adolescents with HIV; however, the role of treatment adherence self-efficacy-an individual's confidence in their ability to consistently follow antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimens-remains under-explored among Chinese adolescents. This gap is particularly concerning given the United Nations' "95-95-95" targets to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.
Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the treatment adherence self-efficacy levels of Yi ethnic adolescents with HIV in a county in Liangshan Prefecture, and to explore the association between self-acceptance, emotion regulation, and treatment adherence self-efficacy.

HIV stigma remains a barrier to HIV prevention, testing, and treatment in sub-Saharan Africa. This study uses Zimbabwe Demographic and Health Survey data to examine how education reduces HIV stigma, focusing on two key initiatives: the 1992 AIDS Action Program, which enhanced HIV awareness, and the 1980 education reform, which expanded schooling access. By addressing gaps in the literature on external HIV stigma, the study highlights education's long-term impact on attitudes toward people living with HIV.
