The handling of suction collection equipment poses a risk because it is one way workers may come in contact with these fluids. Minimizing the risks associated with suction procedures can be accomplished if appropriate policies and procedures can be developed in health care facilities.

The failure of locked-segment landslides is associated with the destruction of locked segments that exhibit an energy accumulation effect. Thus, understanding their failure mode and instability mechanism for landslide hazard prevention and control is critical. In this paper, multiple instruments, such as tilt sensors, pore water pressure gauges, moisture sensors, matrix suction sensors, resistance strain gauges, miniature earth pressure sensors, a three-dimensional (3D) laser scanner, and a camera, were used to conduct the physical model tests on the rainfall-induced arch locked-segment landslide to analyze the resulting tilting deformation and evolution mechanism.

Overall, 426 individuals of Mediterranean horse mackerels were sampled from the northern, central and southern Adriatic Sea during the summers of 2012 and 2013. We aimed to compare short-term outcomes of suction debulking with partial venovenous bypass to conventional open surgery in this population.
Methods: This was a single-center, retrospective study that included all patients with isolated TVIE who underwent suction debulking with partial venovenous bypass or tricuspid valve surgery between January 2010 and December 2022.
