The role of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and MR cholangiopancreatography is demonstrated in a case of pancreaticobiliary carcinoma associated with a large choledochal cyst. The size of the cyst presented considerable difficulty in evaluation with both endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and computed tomography.

Background: Current diagnostic imaging modalities have limited ability to differentiate between malignant and benign pancreaticobiliary disease, and lack accuracy in detecting lymph node metastases. F-Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) PET/CT is an imaging modality used for staging of prostate cancer, but has incidentally also identified PSMA-avid pancreatic lesions, histologically characterized as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). This phase I/II study aimed to assess the feasibility of F-PSMA PET/CT to detect PDAC.

This longitudinal study examined how active gastrointestinal (GI) cancer types affect immune responses to SARS-CoV-2, focusing on the ability to neutralize the Omicron variants. Patients with GI cancer ( = 168) were categorized into those with hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatic metastatic GI cancer, non-hepatic metastatic GI cancer, and two control groups of patients with and without underlying liver diseases. Humoral and cellular immune responses were evaluated before and after Omicron antigen exposures.

To investigate the combined application of cytology, cell block histology and immunohistochemistry to improve the diagnostic accuracy of solid pancreatic lesions in endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) samples. The pathological data of EUS-FNA in 311 cases of solid pancreatic lesions submitted to the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University, Shijiazhuang, China from May 2019 to September 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The cases included pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC, 172 cases), solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN, 12 cases), neuroendocrine tumors (PNET, 14 cases) and chronic pancreatitis (113 cases).

We present the case of a 54-year-old woman who was diagnosed with intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile duct (IPNB) in the remnant intrapancreatic bile duct, 37 years after surgery for congenital biliary dilatation. Endoscopic ultrasonography revealed a papillary, low-echoic mass in the intrapancreatic bile duct, and peroral cholangioscopy revealed a papillary mucosa. A pancreaticoduodenectomy was performed, and the patient was pathologically diagnosed with type 1 pancreatobiliary-type IPNB with associated invasive carcinoma.

This manuscript reports the case of a 75-year-old patient presenting with a collision tumor consisting of a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor and intra-ampullary adenocarcinoma, which manifested with obstructive jaundice and was treated with primary surgical cytoreduction. Additionally, a bibliographic search of original articles was performed in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE; via PubMed) and the Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) databases to review the literature on pancreaticobiliary collision tumors. Currently, information regarding pancreatic and bile duct collision tumors is limited due to their very low incidence.
