The main part of tumor-associated antigens of malignant melanoma in both USSR and USA preparations is similar. Both samples have an antigen of glycolipoprotein nature. This antigen induces a delay of hypersensitivity in patients with malignant melanoma. These data suggest that antigens, used for the study of cell-mediated immunity in patients with malignant melanoma, can be used for an estimation of the immunological status. Both antigens are closely similar in their main characteristics and, therefore, further comparison of the results to be obtained seems to be possible in both countries.
