Expression of receptors on peripheral blood mononuclears of donors and patients with viral infections during therapy was studied using FITC-labeled monoclonal antiidiotypical antibodies with the "internal image" of human alpha- and gamma-interferons and monoclonal antibodies to these interferons. Activation of the immune system caused by infection modifies the expression of interferon receptors and leads to appearance of membrane-bound interferons, mainly gamma-interferon.

Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the pro-gressive loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, leading to motor dysfunction and non-motor symptoms. Current treatments primarily offer symptomatic relief without halt-ing disease progression. This has driven the exploration of natural compounds with neuropro-tective properties.

SARS-CoV-2 Sequencing Consortium, University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz, Mainz, Germany.
Background: During the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, dominant viral variants were repeatedly replaced by new variants with altered properties, frequently changing the dynamics of the infection event, as well as the effectiveness of vaccines and therapeutics. SARS-CoV-2 variant monitoring by whole genome sequencing was established at the University Medical Center Mainz, Germany to support patient management during the pandemic.
Methods: SARS-CoV-2 RNA samples from the University Medical Center were analysed weekly with whole genome sequencing.

Background: Serovar Typhimurium (. Typhimurium) infection can cause inflammation and oxidative stress in the body, leading to gastroenteritis, fever and other diseases in humans and animals. More and more studies have emphasized the broad prospects of probiotics in improving inflammation and oxidative stress, but the ability and mechanism of (LA) to alleviate the inflammatory/oxidative reaction caused by pathogens are still unclear.

Biological sex is closely associated with the properties and extent of the immune response, with males and females showing different susceptibilities to diseases and variations in immunity. Androgens, predominantly in males, generally suppress immune responses, while estrogens, more abundant in females, tend to enhance immunity. It is also established that sex hormones at least partially explain sex biases in different diseases, particularly autoimmune diseases in females.

The hemostatic system prevents and stops bleeding, maintaining circulatory integrity after injury. It directly interacts with the complement system, which is key to innate immunity. In coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), dysregulation of the hemostatic and complement systems has been associated with several complications.
