Continuing pressures on health care funding have led most hospitals to undertake re-engineering and restructuring projects to reduce operating expenses. Unfortunately, savings often turn out to be less than anticipated, as the projects falter in the implementation stage. As part of a two-year process improvement and expense reduction project, Toronto's St. Michael's Hospital developed an aggressive and comprehensive implementation process to ensure that it met its savings targets and maintained its financial viability. This article outlines the Hospital's implementation strategy and reviews the project's major challenges and key success factors.

We appreciate Reierson's thoughtful commentary on our 2019 paper, which described our experiences, ethical process, judgment calls, and lessons from a 2016-2017 data-sharing pilot between Crisis Text Line and academic researchers. The commentary raises important questions about the ethical conduct of health research in the digital age, particularly regarding informed consent, potential conflicts of interest, and the protection of vulnerable populations. Our article focused specifically on the noncommercial use of Crisis Text Line data for research purposes, so we restrict our reply to points relevant to such usage.

One of the main concerns with formulations containing amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) is their physical stability. Stability can be compromised if a formulation contains any residual crystallinity of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) that could act as seeds for further crystallisation. This study presents four methods for crystalline amlodipine maleate quantification in ASD, which were developed using one Raman and three NIR process analysers.

As a natural oil, horse oil has unique biological activity ingredients and therapeutic characteristics, which has important application value and market potential in healthcare, food, skin care and other fields. However, fraud is rampant in the horse oil market, and traditional methods such as chemical analysis and physical property detection are time-consuming, costly, and have low accuracy in detecting adulteration. Excessive adulteration may cause health risks, skin problems, and economic losses.
