Aims: While cementless fixation offers potential advantages over cemented fixation, such as a shorter operating time, concerns linger over its higher cost and increased risk of periprosthetic fractures. If the risk of fracture can be forecasted, it would aid the shared decision-making process related to cementless stems. Our study aimed to develop and validate predictive models of periprosthetic femoral fracture (PPFF) necessitating revision and reoperation after elective total hip arthroplasty (THA).

Given the post-communist context, understanding these dynamics is crucial for grasping Romania's evolving electoral behavior. In order to evaluate the dynamics of mayoral reelection rates in post-communist Romania, the primary research objective of the study consists in the assessment of the correlation between electoral participation and preferences for the incumbent mayors.

Rationale: Patients with obesity hypoventilation syndrome (OHS) have high risk of hospitalization, which might be decreased by home mechanical ventilation (HMV).

Objectives: To evaluate annualized hospitalization rate (AHR) and change in AHR in patients with OHS starting home mechanical ventilation (HMV), and explore if there were any difference in AHR by starting HMV acutely or electively.

Methods: Population-based longitudinal study of patients with OHS starting HMV in the Swedish DISCOVERY cohort between 1996 and 2018, cross-linked with the National Patient Registry for national data on hospital admissions.
