Doppler echocardiography is being used increasingly in the follow-up of patients with valvular heart prostheses because it provides unique hemodynamic information about flow through prosthetic valves. A baseline checkup about 3 months after implantation is now recommended. We therefore now supply each patient with an identity and follow-up card for each particular prosthesis.

Background: This study aimed to assess the accuracy of tricuspid spectral Doppler (E/A) and tissue Doppler parameters (E/E') to diagnose right ventricular diastolic dysfunction (RVDD) in comparison to American Society of Echocardiography (ASE criteria) in pediatric tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) patients after surgical repair.
Methods: This prospective, observational study was done at a tertiary care hospital involving 40 pediatric TOF patients aged less than 2 years who underwent complete intracardiac repair with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). Echocardiographic observations were made using a pediatric transesophageal echocardiography probe after surgical repair in the post-CPB period.

Background: In patients with secondary tricuspid regurgitation (STR), right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF) may not accurately reflect the actual RV systolic performance since a considerable amount of the RV stroke volume (SV) is regurgitated back into the right atrium. To overcome this limitation, we explored the association with the outcome of the effective RVEF (eRVEF), which accounts for the tricuspid regurgitant volume (RegVol).
Methods: 513 patients with STR (mean age 75±13 years, 39% atrial STR, 58% severe) underwent complete two-, three-dimensional, and Doppler echocardiography.

Aims: Although an association between the systemic circulation and transaortic flow rate (TFR) is frequently hypothesized in patients with aortic stenosis (AS), it has not been demonstrated previously. We sought to explore the relationship between blood pressure (BP), vascular afterload measures, clinical history of hypertension, TFR, and survival in patients with severe AS (aortic valve area ≤ 1 cm²).
Methods And Results: We studied 323 patients ≥ 65 years (110 prospective, 213 registry analysis) who underwent transcatheter aortic valve replacement over a 5-year period.

Background: Metastatic tumours are the most common malignant tumours affecting the heart. Cardiac metastatic tumour progression is rapid, with no specific treatments available, and the prognosis is typically poor. Significant challenges remain in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac metastases.

Total anomalous pulmonary venous return (TAPVR) is a high risk and rare cardiac malformation with a low prenatal detection rate and predicting obstruction in these cases is difficult. We sought to investigate fetal echocardiographic parameters associated with postnatal pulmonary venous obstruction (PPVO). We performed a retrospective review of 26 patients with TAPVR who had a fetal echocardiogram from 2010 to 2021.
