In today's litigious society, it is more important than ever that physicians purchase "tail" coverage--that is, insurance for claims asserted after the period covered by their basic insurance arising from occurrences during the insured period. This article describes the tail of a medical malpractice insurance policy, the need for and purpose of tail coverage, the methods of pricing such coverage, and the problems associated with the tail coverage provisions of medical professional liability insurance.

Developing short antifreeze peptides with low immunogenicity is considered to be a promising strategy for improving cryopreservation. Inspired by the design principles of cyclic peptide drugs characterized by high stability and strong affinity, we propose to use the cyclization strategy as a principle for the design of antifreeze peptides, aiming to enhance their structural stability and ice-binding ability, thereby significantly improving their antifreeze activity. In this study, we choose linear threonine oligomers (L-(Thr)), composed of common and biocompatible threonine residues, to investigate the mechanism and efficacy of cyclization.

With the widespread adoption of personalized recommendation systems, traditional methods continue to face significant challenges in areas such as recommendation accuracy, user experience, and content diversity. Existing approaches struggle to effectively integrate user behavior data with the semantic information of article content and often fall short in covering long-tail content to meet users' diverse needs. To address these limitations, this study introduces a novel recommendation system that combines the Knowledge Graph-based Multi-Relational Association (KGMRA) algorithm with the Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) model.

Bullvalene is the archetypical "shape shifting" molecule, undergoing continuous Cope rearrangements in solution at room temperature at a rate of about 3 kHz. In the confined spaces of an scanning tunneling microscopy break junction (STMBJ) setup, isolated bisarylbullvalene molecules have recently been shown to exhibit very restricted isomerization and slower interconversion rates. The restricted number of populated bullvalene isomers displayed large variances in conductivity with the confinement to manifest high piezoresistivity.

Leaf beetles of the subfamily Chrysomelinae are not only herbivorous pests but also potential vectors of plant pathogens. Here, we describe a novel negative-sense virus named "Aulacophora lewisii nyamivirus 1" (ALNyV1), discovered in a leaf beetle (Aulacophora lewisii), a prevalent pest of cucurbitaceous vegetables. Using transcriptome sequencing and rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) techniques, the complete genome sequence of ALNyV1, spanning 10,339 nucleotides (excluding the polyA tail), was determined.
