Background: Platelet concentrates play an important role in clinical treatment such as platelet function disorders and thrombocytopenia. In the process of preparation and storage of platelets, centrifugation, leukofiltration, and agitation will cause morphological changes and impaired function of platelets, which is associated with the increase of platelet transfusion refractoriness, and named as platelet storage lesion (PSL).
Method: This paper proposes three major operations (centrifugation, agitation, and leukofiltration) that platelets experience during the preparation and storage process, to explore the effect of physical cues on PSL.

Objectives: To develop a tool for measuring performance of a coordinated care center against the criteria of an integrated practice unit (IPU) and test it against an established care center in the Military Health System (MHS).
Study Design: Characteristics of 4 patient care coordination models were sorted using the 11 criteria of the IPU.
Methods: Subject matter experts evaluated characteristics and criteria for inclusion or exclusion based on the needs of specialty care in the MHS.

Despite the prevalence of these deficits, the precise mechanisms underlying motor recovery after stroke remain largely elusive. Our study seeks to provide a theoretical foundation for the clinical use of cold-stored platelets (CSPs) by interpreting ultrastructural images and quantitatively analyzing structural changes. CSPs, room temperature-stored platelets (RTPs), and delayed CSPs (delayed-CSPs) were continuously observed using scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy at eight time points. Super-resolution fluorescence microscopy was employed to observe changes in platelet microtubules and mitochondrial structure and function, whereas platelet counts, metabolism, and relevant functional indicators were measured concurrently.
