With Medicare's physician fee schedule set to begin phasing in this January, executives at healthcare plans and medical groups are mixed on the impact of the plan. Because the schedule will lower fees for specialists and raise payments to primary-care providers, many healthcare managers are concerned about cost shifting. Others expect the schedule to have a minimal effect on fees because many prepaid plans already have resource-based payment methodologies.

Chlorine radicals (Cl) are highly reactive and affect the fate of air pollutants. Several field studies in China have revealed elevated levels of daytime molecular chlorine (Cl), which, upon photolysis, release substantial amounts of Cl but are poorly represented in current chemical transport models. Here, we implemented a parametrization for the formation of daytime Cl through the photodissociation of particulate nitrate in acidic environments into a regional model and assessed its impact on coastal air quality during autumn in South China.

This study investigates whether the context in which a word is learnt affects noun and verb learning. There is mixed evidence in studies of noun learning, and no studies of background perceptual context in verb learning. Two-, three-, and four-year-olds (n = 162) saw a novel object moved in a novel way while hearing four novel words, either nouns or verbs.
