Scientific reports from various areas of the world indicate the potential role of tocopherols (vitamin E) in particular α-tocopherol in the prevention and therapy of Alzheimer's disease. The current phenomenon is related to the growing global awareness of eating habits and is also determined by the need to develop the prevention, management and therapy of Alzheimer's disease. This article is a review of current research on the action of the active form of vitamin E-α-tocopherol and its impact on the development and course of Alzheimer's disease.

Succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) has been identified as one of the ideal targets for the development of novel nematicides. However, the resistance of nematodes to fluopyram, one of the commercialized SDH inhibitors, is becoming a growing concern. Since expanding the structural diversity around an active scaffold is a useful strategy for drug development, herein a series of fluopyram analogues with a broad, biologically relevant indole moiety were synthesized and evaluated for nematicidal activity against C.

The segmentation hypothesis, a framework for understanding plant drought adaptive strategy, has long been based on hydraulic resistance and vulnerability. Storage of water and carbohydrate resources is another critical function and shapes plant drought adaption and fitness together with hydraulic efficiency and vulnerability. However, patterns and implications of the interdependency of stored water and carbohydrate resources in the context of the segmentation hypothesis are poorly understood.

A growing number of covariate modeling methods have been proposed in the field of popPK modeling, but limited information exists on how they all compare. The objective of this study was to perform a systematic review of all popPK covariate modeling methods, focusing on assessing the existing knowledge on their performances. For each method of each article included in this review, evaluation setting, performance metrics along with their associated values, and relative computational times were reported when available.

Pharmaceutical contaminants have spread in natural environments across the globe, endangering biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and public health. Research on the environmental impacts of pharmaceuticals is growing rapidly, although a majority of studies are still conducted under controlled laboratory conditions. As such, there is an urgent need to understand the impacts of pharmaceutical exposures on wildlife in complex, real-world scenarios.
