HLA-DP genotyping of 500 donor recipient pairs in a retrospective analysis sponsored by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) identified four new DP alleles, two DPB1 and two DPA1. DNA sequencing confirmed that DPB1*8001 and *8101, each found in a single individual, are novel combinations of previously described sequence motifs in the six variable regions of DPB1. DPA1*02014, found in two individuals, is identical to DPA1*02011 except for a novel silent substitution, a G to A transition at the third position of codon 14. DPA1*01032, found in one individual, is identical to DPB1*01031 except for a silent G to A transition at the third position of codon 20. The identification of these novel alleles brings the total number of reported DPB1 alleles to 85 and DPA1 alleles to 15.

This work represents a comprehensive study of the ground vibrational state of C-13 substituted methanol using very high-resolution far-infrared (FIR) and infrared (IR) Synchrotron Radiation spectra recorded with a very high signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio in the entire region from 40to5000cm, at the Canadian Light sources. High resolution combined with a high S/N ratio allowed the recording to be done with an unprecedented resolution of about 0.0017cm.

Background Aims: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) affects about a third of adults worldwide and is projected soon to be the leading cause of cirrhosis. It occurs when fat accumulates in hepatocytes and can progress to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. MASLD pathogenesis is believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental risk factors.

Anticipatory postural adjustments (APAs) are responsible for a successful first step execution in handstand walking. This study evaluates gymnasts' ability to adapt their APAs and stepping parameters in response to adding/removing an external load over repeated handstand walking initiation trials. Eighteen gymnasts performed five handstand walking initiation trials without load (PRE), eight trials with an external load (LOAD) and five trials with removed load (POST).

The emergence of carrier coherence in MPS is a fascinating topic in coherently controlling the nonlinear effect (or other novel phenomena). Herein, we systematically investigated the third-order nonlinear optical responses of MPS (M = Ni, Fe, Mn) flake suspensions based on spatial self-phase modulation (SSPM) effect.

Although second-order surface analyses, mainly mean power and cylinder maps, are commonly used to characterize the progressive addition lens (PAL) surface, recently it has been suggested that third-order variations may also have relevancy in PAL optical and visual performance. This paper proposes a third-order smoothness metric, and its associated Riemannian distance, to further characterize PAL's surface optical performance. These metrics can provide a complementary scoring tool to those classical ones, particularly, to analyze the transition zones between far, near, intermediate, and blending zones.
