Objective: To determine the acceptance and rejection percentages of articles submitted to the editors of the Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Geneeskunde (NTvG) in 1997.
Design: Retrospective.
Method: The data on all articles reviewed by the editors of the NTvG in 1997 were extracted from the registration system in April 1998. These included the outcome of the review process (rejection or acceptance for publication or no definite decision yet), the article category (e.g., original article, review article), and whether the article had been solicited by the editors or was a spontaneous submission.
Results: In 1997, 845 articles were received. Of these 28% (240) were rejected and 59% (497) were accepted for publication. On 13% (108) no decision had been made (in April 1998). Of the articles decided upon 36% were rejected (extrapolated). 705/845 (83%) articles were unsolicited: of these 33% (235) were rejected and 54% (382) accepted; on 13% (88) the decision was pending. The solicited articles numbered 140 (17%); of these 4% (5) were rejected and 82% (115) were accepted; on 14% (20) no decision had been made yet.
Conclusion: The rejection of articles submitted to NTvG in 1997 was 36% (in 1990 38%). Solicited articles were rejected less frequently than unsolicited ones. The yearly number of articles submitted and the rejection percentage have not changed drastically during the last eight years.

The Misbalance Rodeg () index stands out among the 148 discrete Adriatic indices demonstrating considerable predictive capabilities in evaluations carried out by the International Academy of Mathematical Chemistry. This index excels particularly in forecasting both the enthalpy and the standard enthalpy of vaporization for octane isomers. Despite its significant chemical applicability, the index has not been extensively explored in the literature.

Background Pre-pectoral implant-based breast reconstruction has become increasingly popular because it is associated with less postoperative pain and earlier recovery than traditional sub-pectoral techniques. Acellular dermal matrix (ADM) in pre-pectoral reconstruction is thought to provide additional support for the implant and improve cosmetic outcomes. However, it leads to additional costs.

Troponin is a highly specific biomarker for myocardial injury. It plays a critical role in the diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). However, elevated troponin levels are not exclusively due to cardiac ischemia and may be observed in many non-cardiac conditions, including inflammatory myopathies.

Left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) can effectively enhance cardiac contraction by engaging the conduction system. LBBAP, compared with right ventricular apex pacing, can reduce QRS duration and enhance left ventricular function. Consequently, LBBAP has been proposed as a viable alternative to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT).

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the effects of taper angle and the number of insertion-removal cycles on the retention force of 4 mol% yttria partially stabilized zirconia (4Y-PSZ) double crowns over time.
Materials And Methods: Primary and secondary crowns were fabricated using 4Y-PSZ with taper angles of 2°, 4°, and 6° (n=15). Retention force during crown removal was measured after applying 50-N and 100-N loads.
