Introduction: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) of the body/tail is notably different than PDAC in the head of the pancreas. Surgery plus chemotherapy is known to improve outcomes for all PDAC. The sequence of this therapy is well studied in head cancers yet has never been evaluated systematically in relation to distal pancreatectomy (DP).

Intraoperative fluorescence navigation can illuminate the tumor, directing surgeons to accurately achieve negative margins, which not only reduces recurrence but also minimizes the incidence of complications. Herein, we developed two near-infrared fluorescent probes (Em = 820 nm) and (Em = 823 nm) with prolonged tumor retention (>72 h) and high target-to-background ratios (up to 4.5) based on the conjugation of pan-cancer targeted fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) and the "tumor-seeking" Cyanine 7 bearing a meso-chloride and a cyclohexenyl skeleton (Cy7-Cl).

Background: Despite efforts to expand insurance coverage, substantial inequalities persist, particularly in cancer treatment. We aimed to evaluate whether quality disparities exist across major insurance plans for patients undergoing curative-intent resection for gastrointestinal (GI) cancers.
Methods: This is a retrospective study of adult patients in the National Cancer Database (NCDB) diagnosed with GI malignant neoplasms between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2020.

Immunotherapy has revolutionized cancer treatment, making it a challenge to noninvasively monitor immune infiltration. Metabolic reprogramming in cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is closely linked to immune status. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the ability of carbon-11 acetate (C-acetate) and fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) PET/CT findings in predicting overall survival (OS) and immune infiltration in HCC patients.

Purpose: Contrast-enhanced CT (CECT) may be performed immediately following microwave liver ablation for assessment of ablative margins. However, practices and protocols vary among institutions. Here, we compare a standardized bolus-tracked biphasic CECT protocol and compare this with a single venous phase fixed delay protocol for ablation zone (AZ) assessment.
