This study shows the efficiency of WH-C450, an adsorbent obtained from water hyacinth (WH) biomass, in the removal of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) from aqueous solutions. The process involves calcination of WH at 450 °C to produce an optimal adsorbent material capable of removing up to 73% of SMX and maximum SMX adsorption capacity of 132.23 mg/g.

In the manufacturing of some sectors, such as marble and brick, certain byproducts, such as sludge, powder, and pieces containing valuable chemical compounds, emerge. Some concrete plants utilize these byproducts as mineralogical additives in Turkey. The objective of the experimental study is to ascertain whether the incorporation of waste from the marble and brick industries, in powder form, into cement manufacturing as a mineralogical additive or substitute is a viable option.

Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a critical and complex process involved in normal embryonic development, tissue regeneration, and tumor progression. It also contributes to retinal diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). Although absent in melanoma 2 (AIM2) has been linked to inflammatory disorders, autoimmune diseases, and cancers, its role in the EMT of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE-EMT) and retinal diseases remains unclear.

An easy applicable and selective sample preparation technique has been developed for trace and simultaneously analysis of Glipizide (GLP) and Pravastatin (PST) molecules in biological matrices based on magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). A new magnetic adsorbent including FeO@TEOS-Melamine has been synthetized and characterized for extraction studies. Experimental variables of MSPE were examined and optimized step by step such as pH, adsorption and desorption conditions, time effect, etc.

Adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) RNA editing is a prevalent RNA modification essential for cell survival. The process is catalyzed by the Adenosine Deaminase Acting on RNA (ADAR) enzyme family that converts adenosines in double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) into inosines, which are read as guanosines during translation. Deep sequencing has helped to reveal that A-to-I editing occurs across various types of RNAs to affect their functions.
