Rechargeable aqueous batteries based on metallic anodes hold tremendous potential of high energy density enabled by the combination of relatively low working potential and large capacity while retaining the intrinsic safety nature and economical value of aqueous systems; However, the realization of these promised advantages relies on the identification of an ideal metal anode chemistry with all these merits. In this review, the emerging Sn metal anode chemistry is examined as such an anode candidate in both acidic and alkaline media, where the inertness of Sn toward hydrogen evolution, flat low voltage profile, and low polarization make it a unique metal anode for aqueous batteries. From a panoramic viewpoint, the key challenges and detrimental issues of Sn metal batteries are discussed, including dead Sn formation, self-discharge, and electrolyte degradation, as well as strategies for mitigating these issues by constructing robust Sn anodes.

The goal of the Paris Agreement is to keep global temperature rise well below 2°C. In this agreement-and its antecedents negotiated in Copenhagen and Cancun-the fear of crossing a dangerous climate threshold is supposed to serve as the catalyst for cooperation among countries. However, there are deep uncertainties about the location of the threshold for dangerous climate change, and recent evidence indicates this threshold uncertainty is a major impediment to collective action.

In 2013, all populations of the precious wood genera (Fabaceae) and (Ebenaceae) from Madagascar were placed on CITES Appendix II in an effort to combat unsustainable and illicit over-exploitation and illegal exportation for the international market. The accompanying Action Plan adopted by CITES identified several information and capacity gaps, which undermine the sustainable and equitable management of these valuable resources. These gaps include the lack of practical, reliable tools to identify species along the entire value chain, from standing trees to cut wood and finished products.

Introduction: The cytochrome P450 enzyme 3A4 (CYP3A4) mediates numerous drug-drug interactions (DDIs) by inducing the metabolism of co-administered drugs, which can result in reduced therapeutic efficacy or increased toxicity. This study developed and validated a Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model to predict CYP3A4 induction-mediated DDIs, focusing on the early stages of clinical drug development.
Methods: The PBPK model for rifampicin, a potent CYP3A4 inducer, was developed and validated using human pharmacokinetic data.

Background: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a major global health concern, with their prevalence rising significantly in developing regions like South India. This increase is driven by unique dietary patterns, lifestyle habits, and genetic predispositions contributing to the region's distinct cardiovascular risk profile. However, gaps remain in understanding the biochemical risk factors specific to this population.
