Background: Hallux valgus (HV) is the most prevalent foot condition, associated with a decline in quality of life and a high rate of complications. Pedobarography can be a diagnostic tool, although controversies exist due to differences in measurement scales, type of capture, software, and hardware used. Deformity level differences have not been thoroughly explored.

Owing to its extensive use and intrinsic toxicity, NH detection is very crucial. Moisture can cause significant interference in the performance of sensors, and detecting NH in high humidity is still a challenge. In this work, a humidity-activated NH sensor was prepared by urocanic acid (URA) modifying poly (ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) via a thiol-ene click cross-linking reaction.

This perspective begins with an overview of the major impact that the dendron, dendrimer, and dendritic state (DDDS) discovery has made on traditional polymer science. The entire DDDS technology is underpinned by an unprecedented new polymerization strategy referred to as step-growth, amplification-controlled polymerization (SGACP). This new SGACP paradigm allows for routine polymerization of common monomers and organic materials into precise monodispersed, dendritic macromolecules (i.

Anxiety is a widespread mental health issue, and binaural beats have been explored as a potential non-invasive treatment. EEG data reveal changes in neural oscillation and connectivity linked to anxiety reduction; however, harmonics introduced during signal acquisition and processing often distort these findings. Existing methods struggle to effectively reduce harmonics and capture the fine-grained temporal dynamics of EEG signals, leading to inaccurate feature extraction.

All characterizations of the Shannon entropy include the so-called chain rule, a formula on a hierarchically structured probability distribution, which is based on at least two elementary distributions. We show that the chain rule can be split into two natural components, the well-known additivity of the entropy in case of cross-products and a variant of the chain rule that involves only a single elementary distribution. The latter is given as a proportionality relation and, hence, allows a vague interpretation as self-similarity, hence intrinsic property of the Shannon entropy.
