Background: Adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEGJ) is a highly aggressive tumor that frequently metastasizes to the liver. Understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms that drive this process is essential for developing effective therapies.
Methods: We employed single-cell RNA sequencing to analyze the tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental landscape in patients with AEGJ liver metastases.

Large-bodied pelagic sharks are key regulators of oceanic ecosystem stability, but highly impacted by severe overfishing. One such species, the shortfin mako shark (), a globally widespread, highly migratory predator, has undergone dramatic population reductions and is now Endangered (IUCN Red List), with Atlantic Ocean mako sharks in particular assessed by fishery managers as overfished and in need of urgent, improved management attention. Genomic-scale population assessments for this apex predator species have not been previously available to inform management planning; thus, we investigated the population genetics of mako sharks across the Atlantic using a bi-organelle genomics approach.

Platelet-derived growth factor alpha (PDGFRA) plays a significant role in various malignant tumors. PDGFRA expression boosts thyroid cancer cell proliferation and metastasis. Radiorefractory thyroid cancer is poorly differentiated, very aggressive, and resistant to radioiodine therapy.

This study investigates the enhancement of gelatin (GEL) films using hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) for edible film packaging applications. Although GEL is biocompatible and cost-effective, its limited mechanical strength presents significant challenges for practical applications. The findings indicate that CMC effectively increases tensile strength (TS), while HPMC improves elongation at break (EAB) and hydrophilicity.

An interface can be delicately designed using interactions between nanoparticles and surfactants by controlling surface properties such as activity and charge equilibrium. This study seeks to provide insights into how surfactant concentration impacts the stability and dynamics of nanoparticle-surfactant interfaces, with potential applications in material science and interface engineering. This study investigates the interactions between Graphene Function (Gr, Graphene function in this text refers to functionalizing the graphene sheets with -COOH groups via acidic reactions.
