In situ X-ray reciprocal space mapping was performed during the interval heating and cooling of InGaN/GaN quantum wells (QWs) grown via metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE). Our detailed in situ X-ray analysis enabled us to track changes in the peak intensities and radial and angular broadenings of the reflection. By simulating the radial diffraction profiles recorded during the thermal cycle treatment, we demonstrate the presence of indium concentration distributions (ICDs) in the different QWs of the heterostructure (1.

Background: Human milk electrolytes are known biomarkers of stages of lactation in the first weeks after birth. However, methods for measuring milk electrolytes are available only in laboratory or expert settings. A small handheld milk sensing device (Mylee) capable of determining on-site individual secretory activation progress from sensing the conductivity of a tiny milk specimen was developed.

This study synthesizes a novel three-dimensional (3D) porous coordination polymer (CP), {[Co(L)₀.₅(H₂O)]·NMP·H₂O} (1), via a solvothermal method in a mixed solvent of water and NMP (1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone), reacting Co(II) ions with H₄L (1,4-bis(5,6-carboxybenzimidazolylmethyl)benzene). The CP exhibits unique fluorescence properties, emitting at 420 nm under UV light excitation at 350 nm, and serves as a carrier for Mesalazine (MSZ) in therapeutic applications.

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has set a strong quest for advanced understanding of possible tracks in abating and eliminating viral infections. In the view that several families of "pristine" small oxide nanoparticles (NPs) have demonstrated viricidal activity against SARS-CoV-2, we studied the effect of two NPs, with presumably different reactivity, on two viruses aiming to evaluate two "primary suspect" routes of their antiviral activity, either specific blocking of surface proteins or causing membrane disruption. The chosen NPs were non-photoactive 3.
