The importance of liver dysfunction in predicting mortality in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery is an important topic due to the general desire to improve current risk scores such as EUROSCORE II (European System for Cardiac Operative Risk Evaluation), with EUROSCORE III being currently under development. The model for End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD) Score has already proven its utility in predicting outcomes for patients undergoing abdominal, cardiovascular or urological surgery. In the present study, we want to see its usefulness in proving the postoperative mortality in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery.

The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified workplace violence (WPV) against healthcare workers, exposing them to unprecedented levels of aggression. Incidents of verbal abuse, threats, and physical assaults have increased, especially in high-stress environments such as emergency departments and intensive care units, exacerbating psychological challenges for healthcare staff. This commentary explores the profound impact of WPV on healthcare workers' mental health and job satisfaction.

Introduction: Patients with psoriasis (PsO) and permanent spinal cord injuries (SCI) resulting in paraplegia and tetraplegia may experience a higher rate of infections compared to patients with PsO without SCI. It can result in further challenges for therapeutic management with immunosuppressants (biological and non-biological treatments). Thus,  we aimed to evaluate the rate of infections in patients with PsO and SCI treated with systemic immunosuppressants.
