Retinal vascular geometry and its association to silent brain infarction.

BMC Ophthalmol

January 2025

Department of Ophthalmology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai, 200032, China.

Objective: To examine the relationship between retinal vascular geometry and silent brain infarction (SBI) in the Chinese population.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study that retrospectively analyzed the fundus photographs, MRI and other clinical data of 227 SBIs and 227 controls who visited Shanghai Health And Medical Center for physical examination. The retinal vessel fractal dimension (FD), retinal artery fractal dimension (FDa), retinal vein fractal dimension (FDv), central retinal artery diameter in the region from 0.

Percolation for 2D Classical Heisenberg Model and Exit Sets of Vector Valued GFF.

Commun Math Phys

January 2025

Centro de Modelamiento Matemático (AFB170001), UMI-CNRS 2807, Universidad de Chile, Beauchef 851, Santiago, Chile.

Our motivation in this paper is twofold. First, we study the geometry of a class of exploration sets, called , which are naturally associated with a 2D vector-valued Gaussian Free Field : . We prove that, somewhat surprisingly, these sets are a.

Our study presents a novel orbit with s-convexity, for illustration of the behavior shift in the fractals. We provide a theorem to demonstrate the escape criterion for transcendental cosine functions of the type Tα,β(u) = cos(um)+αu + β, for [Formula: see text] and m ≥ 2. We also demonstrate the impact of the parameters on the formatted fractals with numerical examples and graphical illustrations using the MATHEMATICA software, algorithm, and colormap.

. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional MRI (fMRI) and other neuroimaging techniques are routinely used in medical diagnosis, cognitive neuroscience or recently in brain decoding. They produce three- or four-dimensional scans reflecting the geometry of brain tissue or activity, which is highly correlated temporally and spatially.

Clarifying the pore-throat size and pore size distribution of tight sandstone reservoirs, quantitatively characterizing the heterogeneity of pore-throat structures, is crucial for evaluating reservoir effectiveness and predicting productivity. Through a series of rock physics experiments including gas measurement of porosity and permeability, casting thin sections, scanning electron microscopy, and high-pressure mercury injection, the quality of reservoir properties and microscopic pore-throat structure characteristics were systematically studied. Combined with fractal geometry theory, the effects of different pore throat types, geometric shapes and scale sizes on the fractal characteristics and heterogeneity of sandstone pore throat structure are clarified.
