Noble gas transport through geologic media has important applications in the prediction and characterization of measured gas signatures related to underground nuclear explosions (UNEs). Retarding processes such as adsorption can cause significant species fractionation of radionuclide gases, which has implications for measured and predicted signatures used to distinguish radioxenon originating from civilian nuclear facilities or from UNEs. Accounting for the effects of variable water saturation in geologic media on tracer transport is one of the most challenging aspects of modeling gas transport because there is no unifying relationship for the associated tortuosity changes between different rock types, and reactive transport processes such as adsorption that are affected by the presence of water likewise behave differently between gas species.

Objective: While guidelines encourage individualized discussions of the risks and benefits of antiseizure medication (ASM) withdrawal after a period of seizure-freedom, no formal methods exist for assessing patient preferences. We report the initial development of a rapid patient preferences screener.
Methods: We conducted a mixed-methods study of adults who were ≥1 year seizure-free and seen for epilepsy across three institutions.

Background And Objectives: The use of rapid response EEG (rr-EEG) has recently expanded in limited-resource settings and as a supplement to conventional EEG to rapidly detect and treat nonconvulsive status epilepticus. The study objective was to test the accuracy of an rr-EEG's automated seizure burden estimator (ASBE).
Methods: This is a retrospective observational study using multiple blinded reviewers.

Xenon isotope nuclear magnetic resonance (Xe-NMR) spectroscopy has been widely used to evaluate the pore structure of materials. However, determining how to apply this technique to investigate porous carbon materials is sometimes challenging, partly due to the structural disorder and heterogeneity of the surface properties of these materials, and partly due to the lack of reliable methods for controlling and assessing the density of adsorbed Xe. In this study, we designed and constructed a temperature- and pressure-controllable Xe-NMR system to evaluate the interaction between activated carbon (AC) and adsorbed Xe molecules.
