Metasurface-based longitudinal modulation introduces the propagation distance as a new degree of freedom, extending the light modulation with metasurfaces from 2D to 3D space. However, relevant longitudinal studies have been constrained to designing the metasurface of half-wave plate (HWP) meta-atoms and generating either non-focused or two-channel vortex and vector beams. In this study, we propose a metasurface composed of quarter-wave plate (QWP) meta-atoms to generate the longitudinal multi-channel focused vortex and vector beams.

Solid oxide cell technologies play a crucial role in climate change mitigation by enabling the reversible storage of renewable energy. Understanding the electrochemical high-temperature reaction mechanisms and the catalytic role of the electrode and electrolyte materials is essential for advancing power-to-H technologies. Despite its significance, limited spectroscopic research focusing on nickel and yttria-stabilized zirconia (Ni/YSZ) is available.

There are approximately 537 million adults with diabetes worldwide, and insulin still plays an important role in its treatment. However, the long-term use of insulin imposes a significant financial burden on patients. This study aims to explore the pharmacokinetic (PK)/ pharmacodynamic (PD) parameters of generic premixed insulin lispro 25 (25% insulin lispro and 75% protamine zinc lispro) and evaluate the bio-equivalence between generic and brand-name preparations to reduce medical costs while ensuring the effectiveness and safety of treatment.

Tailoring foaming behavior of poly(lactic acid) by different geometric sizes of bio-based polyamide.

Int J Biol Macromol

March 2025

School of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou 450001, China. Electronic address:

Naturally derived materials have attracted much attention owing to the demand of sustainability. In this work, bio-based polyamide was used to tailor the foaming behavior of poly(lactic acid) by dispersing into different geometric sizes. The results showed that both micro-sized spherical and fibrillar polyamide markedly shortened the half-crystallization time of poly(lactic acid) in isothermal crystallization process, while nanofibrils played a better role on promoting crystallization than submicron spheres.

Strengthening Transition Metal-Oxygen Interaction in Layered Oxide Cathodes for Stable Sodium-Ion Batteries.

ACS Nano

March 2025

Hefei National Research Center for Physical Sciences at the Microscale, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, CAS Key Laboratory of Materials for Energy Conversion, University of Science and Technology of China. Hefei, Anhui 230026, China.

P2-type layered oxides, such as NaNiMnO, represent a promising class of cathode materials for Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) due to their high theoretical energy density. However, their cycling stability is often compromised by severe phase transitions and irreversible lattice oxygen redox reactions at high voltages. In this work, we develop a Zn and Al codoping approach to design a NaNiZnMnAlO (ZA-NNMO) cathode for stable SIBs.
