Zero-fluoroscopy ablation in patients with cardiac electronic implantable devices.

Introduction: Utilizing a three-dimensional (3-D) mapping system and intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) has allowed ablation procedures with less or without fluoroscopy; however, there is limited data for patients with cardiac electronic implantable device (CIED) leads regarding the suspected risk of lead injury. Therefore, we sought to explore technics to perform safe trans-septal approach and catheter manipulation technique in patients with CIED leads.
Methods And Results: This study comprised 49 consecutive patients (59% males, median 73 years old) with CIED who underwent catheter ablation for supraventricular tachycardia requiring the trans-septal approach, 15 without fluoroscopy (zero-fluoro group), and 34 with fluoroscopy (conventional-fluoro group), between July 2019 and April 2021.

Introduction: Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is the single most common cardiac congenital mal-formation with a prevalence of 1-2%. It is frequently associated with aortic disease including annular ectasia. Increasing evidence suggests that valve-sparing root re-implantation surgery combined with primary aortic valve repair can be performed with good midterm results in patients with BAV.

Introduction And Objectives: The incidence of late complications after a physiological correction of the patients with transposition of the great arteries (D-TGA) is very significant, due to the alternative operation of the arterial switch.
Methods: We studied 125 patients with D-TGA, treated with Senning surgical correction between december of 1978 and november of 1990. Surgery was performed at a mean age of 11.

One hundred eighteen surgical complications of 209 patients underwent 249 physiological and rate responsive pacemaker implantations are discussed. In 27.9% of total complications represented the dislodgement of atrial leads occurred particularly in the early period of the observation time which decreased significantly later in the second period of the survey.
