Transpiration-driven electrokinetic power generators (TEPGs) hold promising potential for intelligent chemical sensing applications, enabling the efficient identification and screening of organic solvents. Here, we report a novel TEPG-based chemical sensor using MoS-doped cellulose filter paper for efficient detection of poplar solvents like water, alcohols, and methanol. TEPGs operate by leveraging capillary-driven transpiration to induce solvent flow through porous materials, leading to ion migration and the formation of electrical double layers (EDLs) at the solid-liquid interfaces.

Activating the cGAS-STING pathway presents a promising strategy to enhance the innate immunity and combat the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. One key mechanism for triggering this pathway involves the release of damaged DNA fragments caused by nuclear DNA damage. However, conventional cGAS-STING agonists often suffer from limited nucleus-targeting efficiency and potential biotoxicity.

Novel radiation sensitizers, including inhibitors targeting DNA damage response, have been developed to enhance the efficacy of anticancer treatments that induce DNA damage in cancer cells. Peposertib, a potent, selective, and orally administered inhibitor of DNA-dependent protein kinase, impedes the nonhomologous end-joining mechanism for DNA double-strand break (DSB) repair. We investigated radioimmunotherapy alone or with peposertib in preclinical models of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) or prostate cancer.

Carotenoids are naturally occurring pigments essential for both light-harvesting and photoprotection in photosynthetic processes. Among these, carbonyl-containing carotenoids exhibit distinctive excited state properties due to the presence of intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) in their excited states. In this study, we synthesized a novel family of carotenoid analogs with varying numbers of conjugated double bonds, denoted as the Ind series, and conducted femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy on these molecules in both acetone and n-hexane.

Soil contamination with toxic heavy metals [such as cadmium (Cd)] is becoming a serious global problem due to the rapid development of the social economy. Organic chelating agents such as succinic acid (SA) and oxalic acid (OA) are more efficient, environmentally friendly, and biodegradable compared to inorganic chelating agents and they enhance the solubility, absorption, and stability of metals. To investigate this, we conducted a pot experiment to assess the impact of SA (0.
