Investigating the significance of SPECT/CT-SUV for monitoring Lu-PSMA-targeted radionuclide therapy: a systematic review.

BMC Med Imaging

January 2025

Department of Radiological Sciences, College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, P.O. Box 84428, Riyadh, 11671, Saudi Arabia.

Background: Quantitative molecular imaging via single-photon emission computed tomography-derived standardised uptake value (SPECT/CT-SUV) is used to assess the response of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) patients to targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) with [Lu]Lu-PSMA. This imaging technique determines the radiopharmaceutical distribution and internal dosimetry in patients who receive TRT. However, there is limited evidence regarding the role of image quantification in monitoring changes induced by [Lu]Lu-PSMA.

Design for Telecom-Wavelength Quantum Emitters in Silicon Based on Alkali-Metal-Saturated Vacancy Complexes.

ACS Nano

January 2025

Division of Physical Sciences, College of Letters and Science, University of California Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California 90095, United States.

Defect emitters in silicon are promising contenders as building blocks of solid-state quantum repeaters and sensor networks. Here, we investigate a family of possible isoelectronic emitter defect complexes from a design standpoint. We show that the identification of key physical effects on quantum defect state localization can guide the search for telecom-wavelength emitters.

Prediction of Cyclic O Molecules Stabilized by Helium under Pressure.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

January 2025

Center for High-Pressure Science, State Key Laboratory of Metastable Materials Science and Technology, School of Science, Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao, 066004, China.

Oxygen usually exists in the form of diatomic molecules at ambient conditions. At high pressure, it undergoes a series of phase transitions from diatomic O to O cluster and ultimately dissociates into a polymeric O spiral chain structure. Intriguingly, the commonly found cyclic hexameric molecules in other group VIA elements (e.

Intraocular lens power calculation in cataract patients with keratoconus: Bayesian network meta-analysis.

Int Ophthalmol

January 2025

Beijing Tongren Eye Center, Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University, Beijing Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Key Laboratory, No.1, Dong Jiao Min Xiang, Dong Cheng District, Beijing, 100730, China.

Purpose: To compare the accuracy of intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation formulas in cataract patients with keratoconus (KC).

Methods: This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis statementand and was registered on PROSPERO (CRD42024568997). Pubmed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and EMBASE were searched for retrospective and prospective clinical studies published until October 2024.

Despite an increasing number of studies examining the effect of Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography/ Computed Tomography (SPECT/CT) on improvement of diagnosis of aseptic loosening, there is still a great deal of uncertainty regarding its applicability in diagnostic algorithm. Therefore, in this meta-analysis, we aimed to investigate the diagnostic performance of SPECT/CT for identification of aseptic loosening in patients with persistent pain following the total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and total hip arthroplasty (THA). Electronic databases including Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane library, and Embase were systematically searched for identifying relevant published studies from their inception to April 2023.
