In the last months, conflicting evidence on a possible association between the use of semaglutide and incident nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) has emerged. A recently published study, which evaluated all patients with type 2 diabetes in Denmark, has shown with robustness that once-weekly semaglutide doubles the five-year risk of NAION. In this comment, the new evidence is discussed, along with practical implications for type 2 diabetes patients.

Purpose: Self-testing has been proven to significantly improve not only simple learning outcomes, but also higher-order skills such as clinical reasoning in medical students. Previous studies have shown that self-testing was especially beneficial when it was presented with feedback, which leaves the question whether an immediate and personalized feedback further encourages this effect. Therefore, we hypothesised that individual feedback has a greater effect on learning outcomes, compared to generic feedback.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe diagnostic workup of primary lymphedema includes lymphoscintigraphy, a diagnostic test that provides objective data derived from the characteristics of the lymphatic flow and the lymphatic nodes. Several empirical scoring systems have been proposed with the aim of harmonizing the procedure. Here we comment the latest one, reflecting on the relevance of these tools to make possible multicenter research, based on intraobserver and interobserver reliability with the aim to, in the long run, improve patient outcomes.
