Hydroxyl radical is the most oxidizing type of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which is closely related to body health. In this work, a novel turn-on fluorescent probe BIJ-H for OH with high sensitivity was reported. BIJ-H was synthesized by a three-step reaction, and the pure product was obtained by only washing with poor solvents.

Article Synopsis
  • Dearomative cycloadditions provide a quick way to create complex 3D molecular structures through rehybridization of aromatic ring atoms.
  • This study presents a method that completely depletes the π-system of a benzenoid aromatic pendant in a single photochemical process.
  • The technique combines multiple cycloadditions to convert the aromatic structure into a saturated sp-rich scaffold, allowing for effective exploration of new chemical properties and compounds.

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) exploits localized surface plasmon resonances in metallic nanostructures to significantly amplify Raman signals and perform ultrasensitive analyses. A critical factor for SERS-based analysis systems is the formation of numerous electromagnetic hot spots within the nanostructures, which represent regions with highly concentrated fields emerging from excited localized surface plasmons. These intense hotspot fields can amplify the Raman signal by several orders of magnitude, facilitating analyte detection at extremely low concentrations and highly sensitive molecular identification at the single-nanoparticle level.

We reported herein the synthesis, characterization of hybrid conjugates composed of phthalimide (Phth) and acridine-1,8-diones (Acr) for optical and medical applications. For the synthetic procedure, a three-step synthetic strategy has been utilized. The optical properties of the examined 1,8-acridinedione-phthalimide connected molecules (AcrPhth 1-5) have been examined utilizing various spectroscopic techniques, e.

Numerical studies on lutetium isotopic selective photoionization based on a three-step ionization scheme.

Appl Radiat Isot

August 2024

Science and Technology on Particle Transport and Separation Laboratory, CNNC, Tianjin, 300180, China.

Numerical studies of lutetium selective photoionization have been carried out based on a three-step photoionization scheme, 5d6sD → 5d6s6pF → 5d6s7sD → (53,375 cm) → Lu, by the density matrix theory. Atomic hyperfine structures and magnetic sublevels are considered in our photoionization dynamics model. To examine the effectiveness of this model, the simulated Lu ion strengths are compared with the experimental results, and the simulated excitation cross sections of Lu excitation channels are compared with the analytical and experimental results.
