The contamination of water systems by antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin (CIP), which is used to treat bacterial infections, poses severe risks to environmental safety and public health. To address this issue, a novel zwitterionic polymeric nanocomposite (PNs-HTC) was developed in this study. This novel material was synthesized using alkylated chitosan ionic macromonomers, ionic monomers and combined with hydrotalcite (HTC) via in situ free radical polymerization.

Transitions seen in the electric properties of water-absorbable poly(2,5-benzimidazole) (ABPBI) films were confirmed by electric conductivity, dielectric constant, and time-domain nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements. The electric resistance of the films was measured at room temperature using a high-resistance meter, and the dielectric constant at room temperature was measured using an LCR meter in the frequency range of 90 Hz to 8 MHz. The water absorption ratio at equilibrium absorption for the films was 37%, which corresponded to a volume fraction of water of 0.

This prediction evaluates the different physical characteristics of magnetic materials XFeO (X = Mg, Ca and Sr) by using density functional theory (DFT). The generalized gradient approximation (GGA) approach is chosen to define the exchange and correlation potential. The structural study of the compounds XFeO (X = Mg, Ca and Sr) shows that the ferromagnetic phase is the more stable ground state, where all the parameters of the network are given at equilibrium.

Background And Objective: Radiosurgery can serve as a primary, adjuvant, or salvage treatment modality for cavernous sinus tumors (CST), providing high tumor control. However, particularly with cavernous sinus expansion, there may be insufficient distance from the optic apparatus to perform radiosurgery safely. The internal carotid artery adjacent to the distal dural ring (ICAddr), when enhancing similarly to the CST, can be difficult to delineate, and can lead to over-contouring of target volume near the optic nerve and therefore increasing the risk of radiation-induced optic toxicity.

Objectives: Brain metastases are the most common intracranial malignancy in adults, and their detection is crucial for treatment planning. Post-contrast 3D T1 gradient-recalled echo (GRE) sequences are commonly used for this purpose, but contrast-enhanced 3D T1 turbo spin-echo (TSE) sequences with motion-sensitized driven-equilibrium (MSDE) technique ("black blood") may offer improved detection. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of contrast-enhanced 3D black blood sequences to standard 3D T1 GRE sequences in detecting brain metastases on a 1.
