Recent barcoding technologies allow reconstructing lineage trees while capturing paired single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) data. Such datasets provide opportunities to compare gene expression memory maintenance through lineage branching and pinpoint critical genes in these processes. Here we develop Permutation, Optimization, and Representation learning based single Cell gene Expression and Lineage ANalysis (PORCELAN) to identify lineage-informative genes or subtrees where lineage and expression are tightly coupled.

This case report explores the integration of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in both diagnosing and managing SSS, marking a pioneering contribution to the field. An 80-year-old woman with persistent dizziness, unresponsive to conventional treatments, underwent TCM pulse diagnosis, which revealed significant inter-arm pulse discrepancies.

Ammonia is commonly used as a preservative in the production of concentrated natural rubber latex (CNRL) and latex products; however, it poses a serious risk to human health and the environment. In this study, we investigated a thioacetamide derivative (TD) as a preservative of ammonia-free CNRL and the optimization of a stabilization system comprising potassium hydroxide (KOH), lauric acid (LA), and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) to enhance its preservation effect. The results revealed that an optimal amount of TD (0.

Convolutional neural networks have achieved excellent results in image denoising; however, there are still some problems: (1) The majority of single-branch models cannot fully exploit the image features and often suffer from the loss of information. (2) Most of the deep CNNs have inadequate edge feature extraction and saturated performance problems. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a two-branch convolutional image denoising network based on nonparametric attention and multiscale feature fusion, aiming to improve the denoising performance while better recovering the image edge and texture information.

Backgroud: In the diagnosis of bloodstream infections (BSI) in children, compared to the gold standard of blood culture, markers in the blood offer advantages such as rapid results and cost-effectiveness. Therefore, we investigated the clinical value of procalcitonin (PCT), C-reactive protein (CRP), white blood cell count (WBC), and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in the early diagnosis of BSI in children.
Methods: This study included a retrospective analysis of 309 suspected BSI cases and patients were categorized into 2 groups based on blood culture results: blood culture-positive group, and blood culture-negative group.
