We investigated different decay modes such as heavy particle radioactivity (HPR), spontaneous fission (SF), alpha decay and beta-decay in superheavy (SH) region 104 ≤ Z ≤ 126. In HPR, different emissions from Zmin = 28 to maximum heavy particle (HP) emission up to Zmax = Z - 82 were considered. In the evaluation of Q-values, mass excess Weizsäcker-Skyrme 4+radial basis function (WS4+RBF) values were taken into account.

The excited states of N=44 ^{74}Zn were investigated via γ-ray spectroscopy following ^{74}Cu β decay. By exploiting γ-γ angular correlation analysis, the 2_{2}^{+}, 3_{1}^{+}, 0_{2}^{+}, and 2_{3}^{+} states in ^{74}Zn were firmly established. The γ-ray branching and E2/M1 mixing ratios for transitions deexciting the 2_{2}^{+}, 3_{1}^{+}, and 2_{3}^{+} states were measured, allowing for the extraction of relative B(E2) values.

Pion-Induced Radiative Corrections to Neutron β Decay.

Phys Rev Lett

September 2022

Nuclear Science Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, California 94720, USA.

We compute the electromagnetic corrections to neutron β decay using a low-energy hadronic effective field theory. We identify new radiative corrections arising from virtual pions that were missed in previous studies. The largest correction is a percent-level shift in the axial charge of the nucleon proportional to the electromagnetic part of the pion-mass splitting.

Affleck-Dine Leptogenesis from Higgs Inflation.

Phys Rev Lett

April 2022

Department of Physics, University of California, Berkeley, California 94720, USA.

We find that the triplet Higgs of the type-II seesaw mechanism can simultaneously generate the neutrino masses and observed baryon asymmetry while playing a role in inflation. We survey the allowed parameter space and determine that this is possible for triplet masses as low as a TeV, with a preference for a small vacuum expectation value for the triplet v_{Δ}<10  keV. This requires that the triplet Higgs must decay dominantly into the leptonic channel.

Large Isospin Asymmetry in ^{22}Si/^{22}O Mirror Gamow-Teller Transitions Reveals the Halo Structure of ^{22}Al.

Phys Rev Lett

November 2020

CAS Key Laboratory of High Precision Nuclear Spectroscopy, Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou 730000, China.

β-delayed one-proton emissions of ^{22}Si, the lightest nucleus with an isospin projection T_{z}=-3, are studied with a silicon array surrounded by high-purity germanium detectors. Properties of β-decay branches and the reduced transition probabilities for the transitions to the low-lying states of ^{22}Al are determined. Compared to the mirror β decay of ^{22}O, the largest value of mirror asymmetry in low-lying states by far, with δ=209(96), is found in the transition to the first 1^{+} excited state.
