Aqueous zinc-based batteries (AZBs) are gaining widespread attention owing to their intrinsic safety, relatively low electrode potential, and high theoretical capacity. Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have convenient 2D ion diffusion channels, so they have been identified as promising host materials for AZBs, but face several key challenges such as the narrow interlayer spacing and the lack of in-deep understanding energy storage mechanisms. This review presents a comprehensive summary and discussion of the intrinsic structure, charge storage mechanisms, and key fabrication strategies of TMD-based cathodes for AZBs.

The biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using cyanobacteria has gained significant attention due to its cost-effective and eco-friendly advantages in green synthesis. Additionally, biogenic AgNPs show great potential for biological applications, particularly in combating infections caused by drug-resistant bacteria and fungi. This study synthesized using the cyanobacterium Oscillatoria salina (Os-AgNPs).

Background: Intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) MRI uses diffusion-weighted (DW) MRI acquisitions to evaluate the microvascular and cellular environments of tissue. Due to these properties, IVIM has been increasingly utilized to evaluate abnormal placentation.

Objective: Our primary objective was to compare IVIM parameters in the placenta of patients with fetal growth restriction and appropriate for gestational age controls across gestational ages.

Colistin- and carbapenem-resistant (ColR CrKp) cause important health problems in pediatric intensive care units (PICUs) due to its ability to harbor multiple resistance genes and spread of high-risk clones. In this study, molecular epidemiological characteristics, transferable resistance genes, and alterations of ColR CrKp isolated from PICU were investigated. Isolates were identified by MALDI-TOF MS, and antimicrobial susceptibility tests were performed using disk diffusion method, gradient strip test, and broth microdilution method.

Characterizing dynamic heterogeneities during nanogel degradation.

Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina 29634, USA.

Understanding photodegradation of nanogels is critical for dynamic control of their properties and functionalities. We focus on nanogels formed by end-linking of four-arm polyethylene glycol precursors with photolabile groups and characterize dynamic heterogeneities in these systems during degradation. We use our recently developed dissipative particle dynamics framework that captures the controlled scission of bonds between the precursors and diffusion of degraded fragments at the mesoscale.
