Human populations are experiencing unprecedented growth and longevity with lingering knowledge gaps of the characteristics, mechanisms, and pathologies of senescence. Invasive measurements and long-term control conditions for longitudinal studies are infeasible, necessitating the need for surrogate animal models. Rats have short lifespans (2-3 years) with translatable cardiovascular systems, and Sprague Dawley microcirculatory preparations are key to studying the oxygen transport mechanisms critical to the loss of skeletal muscle function in aging.

Background: Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) plays a role in the development of lymphoma, lung cancer and neuroblastoma. While tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) have improved treatment outcomes, relapse remains a challenge due to on-target mutations and off-target resistance mechanisms. ALK-positive (ALK+) tumors can evade the immune system, partly through tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) that facilitate immune escape.

Alzheimer's Disease (AD), a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder, poses a significant global health challenge with complicated pathogenesis. Pathological characteristics of AD include increasing loss of cholinergic neurons, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and amyloid beta accumulation. Due to the limited availability of effective therapeutic options with only symptomatic relief and their severe adverse effects, there is a significant need to search and explore new agents for the management of AD.

Rapid and precise cancer subtype discrimination is essential for personalized oncology. Conventional diagnostic methods often lack sufficient accuracy and speed. Here, we introduce a multichannel fluorescence-encoded nanosystem based on erythrocyte-coated polydopamine nanoparticles (PDA@EM), functionalized with multiple resurfaced fluorescent proteins.

Cadmium ions are considered one of the most dangerous heavy metal pollutants. The human body does not require cadmium for growth and development, yet continuous intake of cadmium ions due to environmental pollution can lead to their accumulation in the body. This accumulation can result in damage to the urinary system and, in severe cases, pose life-threatening risks.
