We performed the first simulations of accretion onto the compact objects in the Reissner-Nordström (RN) space-time. The results obtained in general relativity are representative of those for spherically symmetric naked singularities and black holes in a number of modified gravity theories. A possible application of these calculations is to the active galactic nuclei with their powerful jets and outflows.

Melanins are the main pigments found in mammals. Their synthesis and transfer to keratinocytes have been widely investigated for many years. However, analysis has been mainly carried out using fixed rather than live cells.

The micaceous black allotrope of ruthenium trichloride is the subject of many recent experimental and theoretical studies. Even so, its structural and magnetic properties remain undecided; monoclinic, trigonal and rhombohedral space groups for the crystal structure have been proposed on the basis of various types of experiments. The magnetic structure is often discussed in the context of the Kitaev state, but inevitably they are inconclusive discussions in the absence of structural and magnetic space groups.

We perform numerical evolutions of the fully nonlinear Einstein (complex, massive) Klein-Gordon and Einstein (complex) Proca systems, to assess the formation and stability of spinning bosonic stars. In the scalar (vector) case these are known as boson (Proca) stars. Firstly, we consider the formation scenario.

We present a systematic shearing-box investigation of MRI-driven turbulence in a weakly collisional plasma by including the effects of an anisotropic pressure stress, i.e. anisotropic (Braginskii) viscosity.
