Along with the development of miniaturization, integration, and high power of electronic chips in the 5G and artificial intelligence era and their urgent need for technologies enabled to solve high heat flux dissipation in limited space, investigating bioinspired extreme superwettability surfaces with high-efficiency condensation heat transfer (CHT) performance has attracted great interest in academic and industrial communities. Compared with filmwise condensation of flat hydrophilic surfaces featured with continuous liquid films, dropwise condensation of flat hydrophobic surfaces is a more efficient type of energy transport way. However, discrete condensate drops can only shed off the hydrophobic flat surfaces under gravity until their sizes reach the capillary length of liquid, e.

Multi-omic quantitative trait loci link tandem repeat size variation to gene regulation in human brain.

Nat Genet

January 2025

Division of Computational Biomedicine, Department of Biological Chemistry, University of California, Irvine, Irvine, CA, USA.

Tandem repeat (TR) size variation is implicated in ~50 neurological disorders, yet its impact on gene regulation in the human brain remains largely unknown. In the present study, we quantified the impact of TR size variation on brain gene regulation across distinct molecular phenotypes, based on 4,412 multi-omics samples from 1,597 donors, including 1,586 newly sequenced ones. We identified ~2.

The magnetic behavior of endohedrally transition-metal-doped tetrel clusters SnTM (TM = Cr, Mn, Fe) was investigated using a combined experimental and theoretical approach. Based on an improved experimental setup, the magnetic deflection was measured over a wide temperature range of = 16-240 K. From a Curie analysis of the experimentally observed single-sided shift at high nozzle temperatures, the spin multiplicities and -factors were determined.

Construction of Linear Tetramer-Type Acceptors for High-Efficiency and High-Stability Organic Solar Cells.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

January 2025

School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Frontiers Science Center for Transformative Molecules, Shanghai Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Thermal Aging, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, 200240, China.

Thanks to the development of non-fullerene acceptor (NFA) materials, the photovoltaic conversion efficiency (PCE) of organic solar cells (OSCs) has exceeded 20 %, which has met the requirements for commercialisation. In the current stage, the main focus is to balance the performance and stability. It has been shown that all-polymer formulation can improve device stability, however, PCE is not in satifsfaction, and the batch-to-batch variation leads to quality control issues.
