Cells display a range of mechanical activities generated by motor proteins powered through catalysis. This raises the fundamental question of how the acceleration of a chemical reaction can enable the energy released from that reaction to be transduced (and, consequently, work to be done) by a molecular catalyst. Here we demonstrate the molecular-level transduction of chemical energy to mechanical force in the form of the powered contraction and powered re-expansion of a cross-linked polymer gel driven by the directional rotation of artificial catalysis-driven molecular motors.

Quality-adjusted time without symptoms or toxicity analysis of trastuzumab deruxtecan versus trastuzumab emtansine in HER2- positive metastatic breast cancer patients based on secondary use of the DESTINY-Breast03 trial.

International Breast Cancer Center, Quirónsalud Group, Barcelona, Spain; IOB Madrid, Hospital Beata Maria Ana, Madrid, Spain; Medica Scientia Innovation Research (MEDSIR) - Oncoclínicas & Co, Jersey City (New Jersey, USA), Sao Paulo, Brazil; Department of Medicine, Faculty of Biomedical and Health Sciences, Universidad Europea de Madrid, Madrid, Spain.

Objective: DESTINY-Breast03, a randomised, phase 3 trial, evaluated trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) versus trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER2)-positive unresectable and/or metastatic breast cancer who progressed on or after treatment with trastuzumab and a taxane. At the current data cut off overall survival analysis, T-DXd demonstrated a substantial improvement in overall survival over T-DM1. This secondary analysis use of DESTINY-Breast03 aimed to further evaluate the treatment differences using quality-adjusted survival time without symptoms or toxicity (Q-TWiST) methods.

Objective: Prenatal detection of complex chromosomal rearrangements (CCR) is extremely rare, but is of great clinical importance, since CCR can be causative of different congenital disorders. We present an exceptionally rare case of prenatally diagnosed Saethre-Chotzen syndrome (SCS) rising as a consequence of chromothripsis involving chromosomes 5, 7 and 11 and deletion of TWIST1 gene.

Case Report: Brachycephaly, hypertelorism, flat face, micrognathia, relative macroglossia and small posterior fossa were noted on ultrasound examination at 28th gestational week.

Rubrene is one of the leading organic semiconductors in scientific and industrial research, showing good conductivities and utilities in devices such as organic field-effect transistors. In these applications, the rubrene crystals often contact ionic liquids and other materials. Consequently, their surface properties and interfacial interactions influence the device's performance.

Achieving Ultrabright NIR-II Nanofluorophore for In Vivo Imaging by Inhibiting H-Aggregates Formation.

Chemistry

Small molecules with an acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) structure, featuring a fused-ring core as the donor and two electron-withdrawing end groups as acceptor units, represent a potential option for NIR-II fluorophores, benefiting from their narrow bandgaps, superior light-harvesting capabilities, and exceptional photostabilities. However, their planar conformations predispose them to forming H-aggregates during self-assembly, leading to significantly reduced fluorescence quantum yield (QY) of the resulting nanofluorophores. Herein, we report a small molecule, PF8CN, with a terminal unit-A-D-A-terminal unit structure.
