In the UK Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) and Oral Surgery (OS) are distinct specialties governed respectively by the General Medical Council (GMC) and General Dental Council (GDC) respectively. Background: Although the emerging NGS-based assays, metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) and targeted next-generation sequencing (tNGS), have been extensively utilized for the identification of pathogens in pulmonary infections, there have been limited studies systematically evaluating differences in the efficacy of mNGS and multiplex PCR-based tNGS in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) specimens.
Methods: In this study, 85 suspected infectious BALF specimens were collected. Parallel mNGS and tNGS workflows to each sample were performed; then, we comparatively compared their consistency in detecting pathogens.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Characterized by inflammation of the gastric mucosa, atrophy of gastric gland cells, and intestinal metaplasia, Chronic Atrophic Gastritis (CAG) is a precancerous lesion disease. In traditional Chinese medicine, Rhizoma Coptidis (RC) is extensively used for treating gastrointestinal disorders, mainly because RC alkaloids-based extracts are the main active pharmaceutical ingredients. Total Rhizoma Coptidis extracts (TRCE) is a mixture of Rhizoma Coptidis extracts from Rhizoma Coptidis with alkaloids as the main components.

The arising-from-chair task assessment is a key aspect of the evaluation of movement disorders in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, common scale-based clinical assessment methods are highly subjective and dependent on the neurologist's expertise. Alternate automated methods for arising-from-chair assessment can be established based on quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) images with multiple-instance learning.
