We present results from a complete next-to-leading order (NLO) calculation of e^{+}e^{-}→ZH in the standard model effective field theory (SMEFT) framework, including all contributions from dimension-six operators. At NLO, there are novel dependencies on CP violating parameters in the gauge sector, on modifications to the Higgs boson self-couplings, on alterations to the top quark Yukawa couplings, and on four-fermion operators involving the electron and the top quark, among others. We show that including only the logarithms resulting from renormalization group scaling can produce misleading results, and further, we explicitly demonstrate the constraining power of combining measurements from different energy scales.

Malaria remains a serious global health challenge, yet treatment and control programs are threatened by drug resistance. Dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) was clinically validated as a target for treatment and prevention of malaria through human studies with DSM265, but currently no drugs against this target are in clinical use. We used structure-based computational tools including free energy perturbation (FEP+) to discover highly ligand efficient, potent, and selective pyrazole-based DHODH inhibitors through a scaffold hop from a pyrrole-based series.

Hunting for Bileptons at Hadron Colliders.

Entropy (Basel)

October 2024

INFN, Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati, Via E. Fermi 54, 00044 Frascati, Italy.

I review possible signals at hadron colliders of bileptons, namely doubly charged vectors or scalars with lepton number L=±2, as predicted by a 331 model, based on a SU(3)c×SU(3)L×U(1)X symmetry. In particular, I account for a version of the 331 model wherein the embedding of the hypercharge is obtained with the addition of three exotic quarks and vector bileptons. Furthermore, a sextet of SU(3)L, necessary to provide masses to leptons, yields an extra scalar sector, including a doubly charged Higgs, i.

Mirror QCD phase transition as the origin of the nanohertz Stochastic Gravitational-Wave Background.

Sci Bull (Beijing)

March 2024

Key Laboratory of Dark Matter and Space Astronomy, Purple Mountain Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing 210023, China; School of Astronomy and Space Science, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230026, China. Electronic address:

Several Pulsar Timing Array (PTA) Collaborations have recently provided strong evidence for a nHz Stochastic Gravitational-Wave Background (SGWB). Here we investigate the implications of a first-order phase transition occurring within the early Universe's dark quantum chromodynamics epoch, specifically within the framework of the mirror twin Higgs dark sector model. Our analysis indicates a distinguishable SGWB signal originating from this phase transition, which can explain the measurements obtained by PTAs.

Extending the Higgs sector of the standard model (SM) by just one additional Higgs doublet field leads to the two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM). In the type-I Z_{2}-symmetric limit of the 2HDM, all the five new physical Higgs states can be fairly light, O(100)  GeV or less, without being in conflict with current data from the direct Higgs boson searches and the B-physics measurements. In this Letter, we establish that the new neutral as well as the charged Higgs bosons in this model can all be simultaneously observable in the multi-b final state.
