Objectives: This review examines how food additives impact the central nervous system (CNS) focusing on the effects of sugars, artificial sweeteners, colorings, and preservatives.
Methods: A literature search of PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science was conducted for studies published since 2010. Key search terms included, food additives, neurotoxicity, cognition, and behavior.

The major pathological feature of Parkinson 's disease (PD), the second most common neurodegenerative disease and most common movement disorder, is the predominant degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, a part of the midbrain. Despite decades of research, the molecular mechanisms of the origin of the disease remain unknown. While the disease was initially viewed as a purely neuronal disorder, results from single-cell transcriptomics have suggested that oligodendrocytes may play an important role in the early stages of Parkinson's.

Wilson's disease (WD) (OMIM 277900) or hepatolenticular degeneration is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by impaired copper excretion with subsequent accumulation in the liver, brain, and other tissues of the body. The defects in copper metabolism are based on various pathogenic variants of the ATP7B gene encoding copper-transporting P-type ATPase. The aim of this work is to search for pathogenic variants of the ATP7B gene among Eastern Eurasian patient cohorts and to pick correlations between pathogenic variants, gender, age of onset of the disease, and the course of the disease.

Medial meniscus root tears (MMRTs) are serious injuries that disrupt knee biomechanics, often accelerating cartilage degeneration and osteoarthritis when left untreated. These injuries are increasingly recognized as a major cause of knee pain and functional limitations, particularly among middle-aged and older adults. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the outcomes of conservative management compared to surgical intervention for MMRT, focusing on pain relief, functional recovery, and the progression of osteoarthritis.
