The growing human population and abiotic stresses pose significant threats to food security, with PGPR favorable as biofertilizers for plant growth and stress relief. In one study, soil samples from both cultivated and uncultivated plants in various cities were used to isolate rhizobacterial populations. Using 50 soil samples from both cultivated and uncultivated plants, isolated rhizobacterial populations were screened for various biochemical changes, PGP activities and morphological characteristics.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a highly prevalent and serious disorder with significant complications, causes considerable daytime and nighttime symptoms as well as long-term consequences and is yet an underdiagnosed and inadequately treated condition. Patients with OSA undergo frequent awakenings during the sleep cycle and find it impossible to get restorative sleep. Individuals are extremely fatigued, sleepy, and irritable throughout the day.

A leadless pacemaker (LP) is a modern alternative to a transvenous pacemaker, allowing certain complications to be avoided; however, some cannot be eliminated. To highlight the essential role of advanced speckle-tracking echocardiography (STE) in diagnosing pacing-induced cardiomyopathy (PICM) caused by an LP. A 79-year-old male, after LP implantation a year earlier, was admitted due to heart failure (HF).

Iodine Stabilization in Perovskite Lattice for Internal Stress Relief.

Small

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Photoelectric Conversion and Utilization of Solar Energy, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Dalian, 116023, China.

Article Synopsis
  • Atomic iodine ionization in perovskite crystals causes defects and strain, which negatively impacts electronic properties and device performance.
  • The study introduces a new iodine stabilization method using [2,2]-paracyclophane, which reduces internal stress and enhances the electrical properties of perovskite films.
  • This approach led to improved device efficiency, increasing from 23.93% to 25.26%, and showed better stability, with the stabilized device retaining 85% efficiency after 1000 hours of exposure, compared to only 57% for the control.

To investigate the changes in the strength and deformation of the blast load-damaged sandstone roof plate under cyclic loading and unloading conditions at different confining pressures, a triaxial loading device was used to carry out graded cyclic unloading tests on specimens with different degrees of damage, and the test results were summarized. The effects of blast-load-induced damage, confining pressure and loading stage on the strength, cohesion, internal friction angle, residual strain and volumetric strain were analyzed. (1) Compared with that of the undamaged specimen at a confining pressure of 0 MPa, the peak stress reductions in the vibration-damaged and blast-damaged specimens were 4.
