Bismuth oxychloride (BiOCl) is known for its unique layered microstructure, which plays a pivotal role in enhancing its photocatalytic properties. This study introduces a novel strategy for controlling the phase composition, facet orientation, and oxygen vacancy formation in BiOCl through precise pH adjustment during the synthesis. By employing a hydrothermal method, we systematically varied the pH to produce distinct BiOCl phases and conducted detailed structural and photocatalytic analyses.

Oxide-derived copper (OD-Cu) has attracted considerable attention due to its exceptional electrocatalytic performance toward various reactions, including the reduction of nitrate (NO3-) to ammonia (NH3). Furthermore, numerous techniques have been developed to synthesize copper oxides with well-defined surface orientations. However, the relationship between the surface orientation of the precursor and the NO3- reduction performance of the resulting OD-Cu catalyst remains unclear.

The aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) are chronically plagued by the inevitable side-reaction and uneven Zn planets stack. Through regulating the water activity and Zn crystal dynamics could effectively relieve those anode/electrolyte interface problems. The (2-hydroxypropyl)-β-cyclodextrin (HBCD), characterized by the excluded-volume and mitigating zinc-flux aggregation effect, is chosen as the electrolyte additive to tail the anode/electrolyte interface.

Background: Biomechanical studies suggest that the triceps brachii muscle generates resistive force against valgus stress on the elbow during baseball pitching. However, given the parallel fiber orientation in the distal tendinous structure of the triceps brachii, the mechanism behind this anti-valgus force remains unclear. In the present study, we aimed to examine the anatomy of the distal tendinous structure of the triceps brachii using bony morphological, macroscopic, and histological methods.

All-perovskite tandem solar cells achieving >29% efficiency with improved (100) orientation in wide-bandgap perovskites.

Monolithic all-perovskite tandem solar cells present a promising approach for exceeding the efficiency limit of single-junction solar cells. However, the substantial open-circuit voltage loss in the wide-bandgap perovskite subcell hinders further improvements in power-conversion efficiency. Here we develop wide-bandgap perovskite films with improved (100) crystal orientation that suppress non-radiative recombination.
